About Me

Hi, I'm Sean, owner and operater of Kalifornia Records.

I was born a Swiss/American citizen, in Torrance, California on March 23rd 1984. I lived in California until my family moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1992. I lived in Utah for about 10 years, until I graduated High School. After school I moved back to California, and eventually joined the Marine Corps in 2003. My first two years were spent in Iwakuni, Japan. After that it was back to California, and eventually a tour in Iraq. When I was finished with the Marine Corps, I moved to Basel, Switzerland to accept a job offer. After a while I realised that music should be my profession, and not just my hobby. So in 2009 I once again moved back to California, where I got my Audio Engineer Degree. After that it was back to Switzerland, where I have been ever since, slowly building my home studio into what it is today.

Music has always been there for me throughout my life and travels. I was 12 when I started to play the guitar. At about the same time I was also interested in learning how to play the keyboard. Like many other guitarists, I tried my hand at playing the bass guitar. (Thanks Uncle Jeff for the custom Fender Bass!) While slowly learning the art of composing my own songs, I found that drums were always something that never turned out as good as I hoped for, so I bought a drum set and set out to get the ultimate groove. To this day I still play all these instruments and I am constantly practicing and trying to learn new techniques.

I like to mess around alot and just record whatever. Sometimes it turns out good, other times not so good.
But this is how some of my best ideas are born, through experimentation.
